Old Bro Spring Formal ??

One of the many replies the OBN received to our last post here was from Jim Bonar (EpSig 405), who let us know that he and some other Old Bro's are planning a "Spring Formal" onboard the Ruby Princess cruise ship for this coming March ...... Old Bro Network thinks this is an EXCELLENT idea, and encourages as many Old Bro's as possible to consider joining Jim on this cruise.  Details in Jim's note below .....

MJH,

Same to you and thank you for keeping the OBN going.
BTY, we are planning (the mid 1950’s era) a 50th (+-) reunion of the resurrection of the “Spring Formal”.  We will be doing a 4 day cruise on the Ruby Princess from San Pedro with stops in Catalina (site of a few spring formals and reunions) and Ensenada returning to San Pedro.  Dates are Thursday March  10 – Monday morning March 14.  Right now we have 5 cabins for sure, but there is always room for more.  Current cost starts from about $500 per person for inside cabin.  That seems high but it is pretty much all inclusive except liquor.  They may have a sale as we get closer to the date if there is availability. Do you think some of your era might be interested?  If so, they can contact me at: 714-968-8353 or ucla1963@yahoo.com (one of my 4 E-Mail addresses).
ZAX,
Jim Bonar

Ruby Princess itinerary .....

THU 3/10 - Leave LA @ 4:00pm
FRI 3/11 - Catalina Island
SAT 3/12 - At Sea
SUN 3/13 - Ensenada
MON 3/14 - Arrive LA @ 7:00am

The Ruby Princess is part of Princess Cruises "Grand Class" of ships, with a passenger capacity of just over 3,000, and includes over a dozen different dining choices as well as eight different showrooms and lounges to catch a show while enjoying an adult beverage or two.  You can watch "Movies Under the Stars" at night on the pool deck, hit the casino to try your luck, or just kick back and relax with some of your other Old Bro's.

Other members of my immediate family have sailed on this ship, and rated it as one of the best cruising experiences they have ever had.

Again, if you're interested in joining the festivities, contact Jim Bonar as mentioned above or you can always drop me a note at oldbronetwork@verizon.net and we will get you hooked up .....

Cheers,
MJH

Happy Holidays from the Old Bro Network

Been a while since I've posted anything here, just want to send a shout out to all you Old Bros out there, hoping you all have a healthy and happy holiday season and are looking forward to a GREAT year in 2016 !!

Just a couple of housekeeping notes, we have ONE new Old Bro to add to the roster, Jim Lacy (EpSig 621).  Please drop him a note and welcome him to the tribe.  That brings our total number of Old Bro's to 329 strong, and as usual, if anyone out there has any contact info for Old Bro's currently NOT on the roster, send it in and I'll get them hooked up.

You can check out the entire roster by clicking on either the ALPHA or ZETA directory buttons above.  And, if YOUR info is not correct, send me a note and I'll get that fixed as well.

There are also contact info changes for Stu Ledsam (EpSig 588), Jim Botko (EpSig 867), and Tom Turley (EpSig 1086).  Updated Vcards have been emailed out to all, please update your records accordingly.

RUMOR HAS IT that the active chapter is planning an Alumni Golf Tournament for sometime in the winter quarter, if you are interested in participating, contact High Rho Kai Convery at lcaepsighighrho@gmail.com

For any of you Bay Area old bro's who are planning to attend the Bruins bowl game against Nebraska on 12/26, or if you'll be road tripping up from SoCal, send me an "I'm going" note and we'll try to get everyone together for a tailgate, or at the very least a few beers before kickoff.  GO BRUINS !!

Cheers,
MJH
