Old Bro News & Notes - 5/8/2011

It's been rather quiet at the Old Bro Network the past couple of weeks, and for this update we have only ONE new Old Bro to introduce ..... John Waters (EpSig 808).  John currently calls Oxnard home but his work in the telecommunications industry has him traveling all around the country as a "road warrior".  Please make him feel welcome.

Also, this week I happened to notice that this month's issue of the Cross & Crescent (the national fraternity's online magazine) has a feature article about one of our EpSig brothers, Duane Clark (EpSig 897).  Duane has built a distinguished career in the film and television industries as a director, producer, and writer.

Raised in an entertainment industry family (Duane's father is the legendary television producer and personality Dick Clark), the article mentions how he got started in the industry as well as why he chose to join Lambda Chi while at UCLA.  An interesting read, here's the link:  CROSS & CRESCENT _ Duane Clark article.

Finally, don't forget to mark your calendars for the "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" Old Bro event, happening Saturday, May 21.  Come on out and watch YOUR UCLA Bruins take on the Cal Bears in baseball at Jackie Robinson Stadium, first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 PM.  Bruin baseball games have a great family atmosphere, so bring the wife, bring the kids, bring the whole gang if you like !!

Parking adjacent to the Stadium is $7, general admission tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for kids 16 & under.  Seating is first come, first served, and us Old Bro's will be sitting somewhere behind the Bruin dugout on the third base side of the stands.  Hope to see you there !!

Cheers,
MJH
